1992
- Developed and implemented an Adulthood Development Program for Cuyahoga
County African-American youth in foster care and group homes (16-18
year olds)
- Received an award from The Ohio Commission on Minority Health
for Best Culturally Written Materials-Training
African-American Parents for Success (TAPS)
1993
- Established The National Rites of Passage Institute through
funding from The W.K. Kellogg Foundation Black Male Institute
- Published The Semi-Annual Drum Newsletter
1994
- Received for the second time an award from The Ohio Commission
on Minority Health for Best Culturally Written Materials
- Received an unsolicited special grant from HUD via Congressman
Louis Stokes ($500,000)
- Received the Cleveland Foundation Grant to implement Passages
Project for K-8th grade Cleveland Public School Youth
- Received $1.4 million from The Greater Cleveland Neighborhood
Centers Capital Improvement Project (State Biennium Funds and
Kresge Foundation Grant)
1995
- Sponsored five community residents to participate in Neighborhood
Leadership Cleveland
- Had a ground breaking for $1.4 Million Capital Improvement Project
- Became a founding member of the National African-American Male
Collaboration
- Received United Neighborhood Centers of America Agency Accreditation
- Received staff support and leadership Transition Grants from the
Cleveland Foundation and the George Gund Foundation
1996
- Received a National Award from The Center of Youth Development
and Policy Research for a Model Youth Development Program
- Initiated the Health Family/Healthy Start Program
- Conducted a Summer Youth Leader Academy
- Received a grant from the National African-American Male Collaboration
1997
- Sponsored an international trip to Ghana West Africa for
participants in the Summer Youth Leadership Program and the
Rites of Passages Project (Passages)
- Celebrated its 90th Anniversary (1907-1997)
- Finalized the Agency's three-year Financial Plan (1997-1999)
- Established an Agency Computer Lab
- Participated in the Piney Woods Country Life School Summer
Enrichment Program for Youth (Mississippi)
- Published database information on Adult Rites of Passage

- Contracted for Financial Services
1998
- Received Governor of Ohio's Best Practice Award for Agency's collaboration
with Anton Grdina School (Cleveland Municipal School)
- Creation of Agency web site
- Conducted management assessment with summary through the University
of Indiana
1999
- Received National Association for the Education of Young Children
(NAEYC) accreditation
- Received a $25,000 grant from The George Gund Foundation for youth
programs
- Agency youth participated in an Internet retracing of the Middle
Passage of the actual voyage with Captain William Pinkney and crew
(January - May 1999)
2000
- Project Seed (2 Schools) received muti-year funding from The Cleveland
Foundation and The St. Luke's Foundation
- Received a $25,000 grant from Starting Point to open an infant room
(4 Infants) and a toddler classroom (8 Toddlers)
- Foster Grandparents volunteered 70,562 hours to serve 220 children
in 32 city wide sites
- Created Agency vision statement and revised mission statement
- Implemented Foster Care Program
2001
- Project Seed youth participated in film documentary "Reinventing
Rituals" produced by Ocean Entertainment of Halifax, Nova Scotia
- Received funding of $40,000 from The Thomas White Foundation
- Incorporation of United Way Services (UWS) outcomes measure process
for Agency Day Care
- Raised $4,800 to begin Agency Endowment Fund
